Affiliate Summit West: Your Guide to Sin City

We couldn’t imagine a better way to kick off 2018, which is why we’re spending next month in Las Vegas. While most of our New Year’s resolutions will probably be broken, we are making the exception for a packed three days of networking with affiliates, merchants, vendors and more. We will be more than ready to help you get your 2018 started off on the right foot, so make sure you schedule a meeting with someone from the CB team beforehand!

Chances are, you have probably heard a thing or two about the nightlife in Vegas, so if this is your first visit, you will definitely want to take some time to have some fun. We came up with a guide that you can refer to if you are looking for sites to see, things to do, places to eat, or places to go out and grab a drink.

The CB Team is excited to meet up with you in Vegas and remember, don’t do anything we wouldn’t do!

Places to See

Hoover Dam

With so many movies filmed at this location, you’d think it would be a no-brainer to add this spot to your list of places to check out. However, the dam is so much more than that. The vast concrete structure has been helping provide power to California, Nevada and Arizona since 1935 and is one of America’s most recognized landmarks. You can take a guided tour or head to the observation deck to get some beautiful photos of this amazing structure.

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area

Although it’s 17 miles southwest of Las Vegas, you’ll definitely want to make time to see the Mojave Desert complete with red hills that go on for miles. There are plenty of hiking trails as well as biking. If you prefer the AC, you can opt to enjoy the scenery of the 13-mile route from the comfort of your own car.

High Roller Observation Wheel

For a different view of the strip, take a ride on the high roller, an observation wheel that stands 550 feet tall. The ride provides the perfect view for a photo op of nearby attractions and casinos. Pro tip: ride the happy hour pod which includes a complimentary open bar.

Things to Do

Visit the Strip

This is something that should be done twice; once during the day and once at night because they can provide a unique view depending on the time of day. You can walk the strip if you’re feeling up to it or take the monorail. There are dozens of attractions to check out, so make sure you allocate enough time!

Go Gambling

While we aren’t saying you should go spend your life savings, indulge in playing a few games! Stick to games that you know how to play already or try a slot machine. Slot machines are everywhere you turn in Vegas, including gas stations and grocery stores!

See the Fountain Show

With shows every 15 to 30 minutes, you can definitely fit this into your visit. The Bellagio may house an impressive casino, but it’s also home to a massive fountain that displays a light and water show. It’s a sight to see during the day or at night.

Enjoy the Entertainment

Las Vegas is no stranger to entertainment, which makes it harder to narrow down what you want to see. From magic shows to dinner shows to Cirque Du Soleil; the choices are endless but all guarantee a good time!

Walk the Neon Museum

Las Vegas is home to neon lights that light the strip at night, but ever wonder what happens when they are replaced with new lights? The Neon Museum serves as the “boneyard” for the discarded lights and is truly a sight to see. Containing over 200 pieces of signage from the Las Vegas Strip, this is one thing you don’t want to miss.

Enter the Mob District

The Mob Museum is a must if you want to see the darker side of Las Vegas from back in the day. The museum itself details the history of mob activity throughout the United States back in the day with in-depth exhibits.

Places to Eat

Carson Kitchen

An American-style place that features a little bit of everything! The urban atmosphere is complete with decor that looks like something you’d see in a magazine and you’ll quickly discover Carson Kitchen lives up to their 4.5-star review on Yelp. Make sure you taste the watermelon & feta salad or the gyro tacos!

Restaurant Charlie’s

At Las Vegas’ hottest restaurant, the goal isn’t just to score a table, it’s to score the right table. If you can prove your VIP status, you can earn the Kitchen Table, which hovers directly above the kitchen. Even if you can’t grab this table, you can still appreciate the unique tasting menu.

Gangnam Asian BBQ Dining

Frequently referred to as the best Korean food in Vegas, this trendy little spot has locals and out of towners raving. Be sure to try the beef toro, miso soup and macaroon ice cream sandwich!

Places to Drink

Rhumbar

With a patio that can fit up to 300 guests, it’s no wonder this plush patio is deemed one of Las Vegas’ most popular outdoor patios. The sleek decor features white and green accents which will give you Caribbean vibes. Try a Pina Colada with Mt. Gray XO, Coco Lopez, fresh pineapple, lime juice and coconut syrup. It’s a local favorite!

Skyfall

Sip on a drink with a view! Skyfall provides a 180-degree view of Las Vegas with a lounge that transforms into a nightclub later in the evening. Get here early to enjoy a relaxed space with a warm vibe.

The Chandelier

Located in the Cosmopolitan, this bar sits on three different floors. If the 2 million crystal beads highlighting the chandelier design weren’t enough to draw your attention, try a drink like The Forbidden Fruit or The Infinite Playlist. You won’t regret stepping foot into this high-energy atmosphere!

Tips

Be prepared to walk. While destinations may seem close, most likely they aren’t….kind of like a mirage! Wear comfortable walking shoes so you won’t regret it later.
Don’t buy drinks in the casino. If you’re gambling, wait for the cocktail waitress to approach you. Most casinos offer free cocktails in order to keep you playing and while it may take some time to get your drink, you’ll save money!
Be safe at night and watch your surroundings. There are a lot of professional pickpocketers and hustlers in the area, so keep your wits about you.
Bring water and sunscreen with you everywhere you go. Las Vegas has a very dry heat and while you may not feel yourself sweating, you need to keep hydrated and protected.
