Clickbooth | Ad:Tech San Francisco 2010 Recap

Ad:Tech San Francisco 2010 Recap

At this year’s Ad:Tech San Francisco, over 10,000 affiliates, advertisers, networks, and a variety of other industry professionals and thought leaders, gathered in the Moscone Center for 3 days of networking, sharing, and most of all generating and solidifying new business.

Since the recent shakeups our industry has faced over the last few months (e.g Visa-MasterCard changes, New Facebook Policies, a rise in Google Slaps, etc..) it was apparent that many affiliates were on an mission at this year’s show to find new traffic sources, establish new partnerships, and capitalize on new opportunities that would help them not only adapt their business to these new changes, but continue grow and expand it in the process.

So what were some of the highlights from this year’s show?

For us, it all began at the expo hall. Immediately after the doors opened Tuesday morning, our booth was jam packed with people eager to learn more about our network, our new tools and technology, and most of all, how we could start doing business together. That, and they wanted to meet and take pictures with Clicky (who’s received a ton of attention since the recent release of his personal documentary, “The True Hollywood Story of Clicky“. )

Another highlight of the show, like many of the other ones we attend, was all of the great face to face time we were able to get with our existing clients and partners, which as you know, is something that doesn’t happen very often in this industry. It was great just being able to catch up in a nice relaxing atmosphere and map out our goals for the future.

Some other cool events at this year’s Ad:Tech San Francisco…

Affiliate Summit’s Cocktail for a Cure Party

Affiliate Summit Founders Missy Ward and Shawn Collins, put together another great event aimed at raising money for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. The party, featuring a number of guest bartenders including Warren Corpuus (VP of Development of Vayan Marketing Group), Steve Hall (Adrants), Robert Scoble, and others, proved to be a huge success raising over $1,000 alone just in tips.

Affbuzz Birthday Meetup, a popular affiliate blog aggregator ran by Justin Barr, recently had it’s 1st birthday, and in celebration, threw a casual meetup for affiliate marketers/bloggers to hang out, share ideas, and eat some tasty birthday cake. Everyone that attended seemed to have a great time at the meetup, and hopefully Affbuzz will continue to hold them at future conferences. (Editor’s Note: If you haven’t heard of Affbuzz, check out our interview with them here.)

Now for the main event….the Clickbooth Affiliate Apocalypse Party!

As always, we went ALL OUT this year and teamed up with the Industry Immortals to throw the biggest party at Ad:Tech San Francisco for a 3rd year in the row.

The venue opened up at 10pm and by midnight was jam packed! Once entering the venue everyone was greeted by Aerialists, Fire Breathing Dancers, Contortionists, sexy vampires, great music and variety of other world class entertainment.

Here are some awesome pictures, taken by Roger Lanoue Jr.(of RLJ Media/National Web Leads) and Steve Hall from AdRants to give you a little taste of what went down during the first ever Affiliate Apocalypse.
